It's a funny thing -- many of my favorite sci-fi, fantasy, and non-genre fiction books contain mystery elements. I love games in which you have to solve puzzles. And I do read horror and suspense, which are sometimes lumped in with mysteries. (Not thrillers, though, or almost never.) So I don't know why it is, exactly, that I've shied away from the genre.
Anyway. Thank you for the recs, and feel free to keep them coming. Do note, however, that my to-read stack is daunting me right now, so I might not add anything to it for awhile. (Yeah yeah, we've all heard that one before.)
