Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Definitely less. As compared to last year? This list looks really short. Especially when you consider that I listed most of my drabbles this time and didn't list them last year.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2007?
I suppose it would be a stretch to say that I would *never* have predicted writing a bit of FFXII fic. Auron/Kinoc was a bit of a surprise. I guess the biggest surprise is the Beclem story stretching into a multi-chapter work -- originally, the entirety of "Aftermath" was supposed to be the first scene.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
"Aftermath". Although it also frustrates me the most, because I see how far I still have to go with it. I was also pretty delighted (in a much simpler way) with "Research Assistant" and "Where They Left Off".
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
I'd have to say not really.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
FINISH AFTERMATH. In bold, with sparklies and blink tags. If I finish up any other WIPs, that's gravy. Also, get back into the habit of writing regularly. Maybe by really finishing up WIPs and working on the 30_fantasies challenge. I've really slipped on that these last few months, and I miss it, a lot.
From my past year of writing, what was...
My Favorite Story: "Research Assistant"
My Best Story: I really don't feel qualified to judge.
Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe: Nothing in particular comes to mind.
Most Fun: "Promises" -- I still get such a charge out of collaborative writing. And that one more than any other took shape as it was being written. Also, the Kissing Battle.
Most Disappointing: "Tradition". It's not bad, but I feel like I could have, and should have, done a lot more with it.
Sexiest: I didn't really write any porny stuff this year, except for some segments of "Promises". Maybe "Where They Left Off".
Story with a Single Sexy Moment: "Promises". My favorite is the second time Paine comes to Nooj's rooms.
Hardest to Write: Aftermath Aftermath omg Aftermath. The first chapter came pretty easily, but the second was like pulling teeth and it continues to go really slowly.
Most Unintentionally Telling: Probably "Miracle" and "Where They Left Off" -- feeling some writers block? Time to churn out some P/N fluff! Hmm, I wonder if that would work again...</lj>
