These are my cats. They're nine years old, and they're littermates (brother and sister). We've had them since they were about 13 weeks old. The silver tabby girl is Tori (Yakitori) and the big black boy is Lexi (Alexsei).
Lexi is a big boy -- he weighs something like 17 pounds. A little fat, too, but mostly he's just large: tall, with long legs and a long tail and a beefy body type. But he does love to eat. He makes very certain that we don't forget to feed him, and will check out any human food if we give him the slightest opportunity.
Lexi's other signature move is what we call the "Lexi lean": he'll walk up to you and lean against your legs. Anyone's legs, even if he's only just met you. It's very cute. It can also make it difficult to walk. He's not a lap cat, really (unless he's decided it's nearly dinnertime), but he likes to be near you. He also likes to try and get my attention by biting my feet, especially if I'm on the phone.
And here's Tori.
She's a silver tabby, and was the runt of the litter. Although you'd never know it to look at her -- given how big her siblings are, being the "runt" just makes her an ordinary size cat. Lexi is the alpha cat; this perch is one of the few places he rarely bothers her.
Although I wouldn't describe Tori as a lap cat either, she is somewhat more snuggly than Lexi. If you want to cuddle Lexi (and he is so cuddlable!), you usually have to go to him. Tori is more likely to come to you for lap time or petting.
Fuzzy spotted belly:
Tori has some health challenges, but they're controlled by medication and a special diet. Most scary was the time last year when she developed a sudden case of anemia (some of you may remember that; she was in the hospital for three days and almost didn't make it). She's been stable for almost a year now, but it is the kind of thing you have to keep an eye on. But she seems happy and content most of the time, even though she doesn't like having to take pills morning and night.
The kitties do squabble sometimes (they are brother and sister, after all), but for the most part they get along quite well.
So, those are my kitties. My old LiveJournal Scrapbook album, which hasn't been updated in awhile but has lots of good kitten pictures, is here, if you haven't had enough already. :)
